• Boho Wedding Inspiration Shoot with Hazelwood Photo – Part 1!

This bohemian shoot has got to be one of my favorites both because of the wonderful team of people involved and also for the beautiful, dreamy quality of the final product.  In fact there are so many beautiful photos from Hazelwood Photo that I decided to make it into two blog posts!

  • Winter’s Dawn Inspired Wedding Shoot

On a cold, misty morning in December I loaded up the Blum van and drove it out into the Columbia Gorge about an hour before the sun started to peek up for our Winter’s Dawn inspired shoot.  When I arrived at the shoot location, Gorge-ous Weddings at Wind Mountain Ranch, the sky was just starting to warm and you could see the snow on the tops of gorge cliffs with fog lifting off of the Columbia.  The shoot was meant to be dreamy and it really was! Cranberry reds, cream, blush, grey and icy blue tones set against vintage furniture, dreamy dresses and lots of lush fabric textures were the look of the day.

  • Mt Hood Organic Farm Wedding with Dylan and Sara Photography!

Patrick and O’Dessa were married on a gorgeous July day at Mt Hood Organic Farms.  Between the stunning view of the Mountain and the completely charming indoor spaces the farm is one of my absolute favorite venues!  O’Dessa wanted to enhance that setting with soft, pretty, loose florals in shades of cream, blush, peach, coral and green.   Patterned ceramic vases from Anthropology and loads of quirky details added whimsy and interest to an otherwise classic and soft palette.

  • Astoria Wedding by Brittany Lauren Photography!

Susan and Daniel were married in July at the Barbey Maritime Center in Astoria with a reception following at Fort George Brewery.  To create the setting for both the ceremony and reception sites we worked with event designing company Muse by Christina.  The ceremony space was left simple and clean so the focus was on the gorgeous arched windows behind the couple. After the ceremony guests were transported back into downtown Astoria where Christina’s team had completely transformed the interior of Fort George Brewery’s event space.  One of my favorite elements were the paper cranes they hand made and hung in a swooping effect over the tables.  Medicine bottles and silver vessels filled with pastel flowers were tucked in with lanterns, coral, starfish, candles, compasses, driftwood and more on the tables for a truly eclectic, beachy feel.

  • Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday season!  In addition to the holidays and the New Year as of December 20th Blum turned 9!  It’s hard to believe that as we embark on a new year that also means that I’m approaching a decade in business.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me, and Blum, through the years.  I applied for my first job in a flower shop because I thought it would be fun to play with flowers but I decided to make floristry my career because of the people I meet and the stories that are now a part of my life thanks to this job.

  • Zenith Vineyard Wedding with Powers Photography!

Kim and Demetri were married in July at Zenith Vineyard in Salem, Oregon.  It was a breathtakingly beautiful summer day full of kind, happy people.  The flowers were kept very classic and feminine and featured roses, hydrangea, tulips, dahlias, and ranunculus in shades of soft pink, blush and cream.  Congratulations Kim and Demetri!  Thank you for letting us take part in your gorgeous day!
