• NYE Wedding!

I LOVE a New Years Eve Wedding!  Over the years we’ve had more years with them than without them and so decorating for these celebrations has become as much a holiday tradition as decorating my own home.  A year ago we helped in the celebration of Carly and Lee’s wedding at Leftbank Annex.  We contrasted the hard edges of the venue by incorporating loads of greenery (hanging and tabletop!) and candles.  Balloons, confetti and champagne kept the holiday theme alive!

  • Ecotrust Wedding with Yasmin Khajavi

www.ykvision.comTed and Chris were married on a fall weekend at the Ecotrust building in the Pearl District.  We kept the wedding flowers classic and romantic by using seasonal blooms like dahlias and zinnias in a soft color palette.  One of my favorite details were the hoops at the ceremony backdrop that were later echoed by the mini wreath escort cards.  Lots of candles and lanterns kept the space warm on an otherwise chilly October day.

  • Castaway Wedding with Yasmin Khajavi!

Maren and Pat were married on a typically misty, cool March day in Portland. Cherry blossoms, roses, candlelight, accents of steel blue, blush, cream and green, and the scent of fresh jasmine flowers lent the day a wonderfully intimate and cozy feel.  The wedding party got ready at the Sentinel Hotel before heading to the Japanese memorial on the waterfront to capture the stunning (and short season) of the blooming cherry trees.  The ceremony and reception took place in the light filled industrial space at Castaway in NW Portland.   Congratulations Maren and Pat!  Thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day!

And thank you so, so much to Yasmin Khajavi for capturing it all and sharing these gorgeous images with us!

  • Classic Waverley Country Club Wedding

Alexis and Sam were married in August at the beautiful Waverley Country Club along the bank of the Willamette River.  With every detail carefully thought out this wedding was the epitome of classic.  My favorite floral element was the dramatic elevated head table centerpiece.  At 24′ long and about 6′ tall it was so much fun to put together and really added to the reception space.  Cypress trees at the ceremony lent themselves to the golf course grounds and also kept the views to the river open. Roses, gardenias, and lilies in crisp shades of white added fragrance throughout the space.

  • Union Pine wedding with Ellie Asher!

Late last summer we provided the flowers for Mica and Peter’s colorful wedding at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox church with a dinner celebration held afterwards at Union Pine.  I really loved how Mica chose to allow the elaborate decor at Holy Trinity to shine by just adding simple garland at the altar and entrance.  We dressed Union Pine with loads of greenery and bold colors.  My favorite element was adding the green vines to the cafe lights over the dinner tables!  It was so fun turning that blank space into an indoor garden.

  • Ariella Chezar and Max Gill Workshop Final Dinner!

On the final evening of the workshop attendees arranged florals for an evening designed by Ariella.  Warm, colorful, beautiful and delicious it was the perfect way to end the stay.

  • Ariella Chezar and Max Gill Workshop

In September I traveled to the beautiful Berkshires in western Massachusetts to attend a floral workshop with Ariella Chezar and Max Gill.  It was wonderful to spend a few days slowing down to play with flowers simply for the sake of playing with flowers.  I also thoroughly enjoyed spending time with like minded florists from all over the country to talk about our similarities, and differences, in running small floral design businesses.  Here are some behind the scenes shots by photographer Corbin Gurkin!

  • Portland Art Museum with Jessica Hill!

Jen and Vic were married in July at beautiful St Mary’s Cathedral in NW Portland with a celebratory reception to follow at the Portland Art Museum.  Classic and glamorous the wedding featured the bride’s favorite roses accented with touches of hydrangea, orchids, ranunculus and gardenias in soft shades of white, cream and ivory with gold accents.

  • Villa Catalana Wedding with Amanda Marie Studio

Thanksgiving brings three things to mind for me… family, food and football.  Elizabeth and Mike’s Villa Catalana wedding may not have featured a lot of pigskin but it did feature a delicious meal served family style, sunshine, smiles, kind hearts, long lengths of garland and an unbelievably beautiful setting caught on film by the talented Amanda Marie.

Here’s to holding those we love close and a weekend dedicated to celebrating gratitude, food, family (and football.)  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
