Storybook Woodland Wedding

Oregon woodland wedding

Last Spring we had the privilege of providing flowers for a very special event…

Located at a private residence tucked away in the forests outside of Portland our client’s wanted their wedding celebration to be reminiscent of the settings in their favorite fables and childhood stories. A village of heavily timbered structures was constructed and guests were taken on a journey through different settings filled with candles, ferns, moss, incense, towering oaks and fire pits. As florists I felt our job was to add the delicate whimsy and color from the lighter side of those stories as well as to infuse the early Spring season. Garlands were strung through the trees above guests heads, thousands of stems of jasmine vine scented the air, natural beeswax candles were clustered on tables and tucked in rocky hillsides, masses of delicate spring blooms hung overhead dining tables and hundreds of helleborus, ferns, and hyacinth nodded alongside pathways weaving through the woods.

Here are a few highlights from one of the most challenging, inspiring and creatively fulfilling weeks of my life.
